What do you want to do?

I don’t mean right this minute, like what do you want to eat.

Or, do you want to watch a movie or take a nap!

I mean, what do you want to do with your life?

Do you have a sense of direction?

Do you have a dream?

Or have you given up on your dream?

John Maxwell points out that there are three types of people when it comes to having a direction in life:

1. People who don’t know what they want to do

2. People who know what they want to do but don’t do it

3. People who know what they want to do and do it

Where do you find yourself?

People who don’t know what they want to do are confused.

They lack a sense of purpose and direction. They wander. They drift.

They can’t reach their potential because they have no idea what to shoot for.

People who know what they want to do but don’t do it are usually frustrated.

Every day they experience a gap between where they are and where they want to be.

It doesn’t matter what reason they have for not doing what they want to do—whether it is fear, laziness, or worry—they still miss out on reaching their potential.

People who know what they want to do and do it, are best described as fulfilled.

They possess a strong sense of passion. They are focused on their purpose.

They are committed to grow in order to become the person they want to be.

Since we do have a lot in common, you may be at a crossroads in your life

where things are changing.

  • Your children are growing up and leaving home

  • You have moved to a new home

  • You have lost a spouse to death or divorce

  • You have retired

  • You feel you have missed the boat, life has passed you by—it’s just too late for you to do what you want to do

As you stand at that crossroads, you may feel lost and unsure

of what you want this next chapter of your life to look like.

One problem could be that you really don’t know what you want.

After all, being a mom or dad for twenty+ years kind of gets you out of

the habit of thinking that ‘what you want’ is even an option!

So what do you do?

Settle for being confused and frustrated—hopeless?

Or give up on your dreams and goals?

With the help of life coaches and mentors, I found what I wanted to do.

I discovered a passion for personal development.

I learned new skills that helped me grow and become the person I am today.

I found that I love to help people realize that it is never too late to become what they were meant to be.

It is never too late to dust off a dream or make new goals.

It is never too late to reach your potential.

And it is soooo fulfilling to do it!
